Diamonds & DISCO 2017: A huge success for Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter!
A few weeks ago we took part in a very special event called Diamonds & DISCO. The purpose of the Diamonds and DISCO gala was to raise money for our organization, the Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. We want to thank all of the sponsors and attendees of the event for their support and generosity. We truly appreciate what you’ve done for us.
The event was a gala with a dinner and a raffle. The prize was a $43,000 Forevermark ring from Tara Fine Jewelry Company. The ring was really a beautiful piece, and we were very glad for the donation from Tara and that we were able to give the jewelry to the winner of the raffle. It really made the Diamonds and DISCO gala special.
We had almost 300 people come out to support us for our 30th anniversary! We were so pleased with the turnout and, as we said, we thank every attendee for supporting our cause of helping homeless mothers and their children get back on their feet by giving them the tools they need to succeed.
From where we were standing, it looked like everyone was having a great time at the party. The venue, Chateau Elan, was absolutely breathtaking. We’re so glad to have had this opportunity to spend the evening with our guests – and of course, have fun with the disco theme of the event!
When all was said and done, we tallied up our fundraising and realized that the total came close to $90,000. We are just overjoyed thinking of how these funds will go towards helping mothers in need, and our minds are already spinning with all of the possibilities that are now open to Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter through the kindness of our sponsors, donors, and attendees. Imagine what we can do now to help our children and mothers in need.
