Maureen Kornowa

Maureen Kornowa has almost 20 years of experience in the nonprofit arena. Since joining Home of Hope in 2014, she has taken HOH from a state-funded children’s shelter to a business model that saves children from homelessness and keeps young families together. The program is designed to end the cycle of homelessness for two generations at a time. Home of Hope now operates with grants, fundraising, corporate partners, and civic and religious support.

This forward-thinking, high-accountability program spearheaded by Maureen has gained much recognition in Gwinnett and the Metro Atlanta area. Maureen has been recognized in the AJC, Crescent Business Journal, the cover of Sugar Hill Life Magazine, Suwanee Magazine, and Gwinnett Magazine as the 2013-2014 “Woman of the Year”, 2015 “Woman of the Year” by Wealth Horizon Management, 2014 and 2015 top 100 “People to Know” edition and is featured in Gwinnett Magazine as “BEST OF GWINNETT” 2014 through 2021, among other awards. She is the recipient of the 2019 Liberty Bell award given by the Gwinnett Bar Association for Public Service. Maureen is also the recipient of the 2019 “Public Service” Award given at the Chamber of Commerce 71st Annual Dinner. She is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Club as well as a member of the 2022-2023 Ambassadors Council which champions new business in Gwinnett County.  In 2021, Home of Hope won the “Community Contributor” Award at the Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards.

Maureen has lived in Gwinnett for 31 years and has two adult daughters, two wonderful sons-in-law, and a grandson who is her joy. She is an avid tennis player and loves fine dining.
