Meet Samantha Pryor

Have you met Samantha Pryor?

She’s one of the newest faces here at Home of Hope. Our executive assistant and volunteer coordinator, she knows a little something about not having a regular home base.

“I grew up moving around a lot since my dad was in the military for 20 years,” she explained. “Eventually, we moved back to north Georgia, since my dad is from here.”

But not all her family lives in the Peach State.

“Recently, I went back to my mom’s home country of Germany and saw family we hadn’t seen in over 20 years,” she added.

Before Sam came to Home of Hope, she served in various roles at Peace Place. But these days, we’re keeping her busy at Home of Hope. She helps manage day-to-day admin and coordinates our all our volunteers and their schedules.

The dedication volunteers show is always inspiring, she says.

“Since being here I’ve seen the generosity of seasoned volunteers, as well as, the new volunteers,” she added. “Whether I’m getting volunteers to babysit or help with fundraisers.”

So, what does she love most about working at Home of Hope?

“I love that I get to help out with such a great organization and such great families,” she said. “Many of these single mothers would try anything to put a roof over their heads. And without Home of Hope, they could find themselves and their children in some very bad situations.”

One more perk of the job? Working with some of the sweetest kids around.

“One of the 3-year-old little boys here likes to learn the names of the staff,” she explained. “One day, he asked me what my name was and I told him. Now, whenever he sees me, he always says, ‘Hi’ and says my name in the cutest way.”

Sam and her husband of nearly four years are proud pet parents to three cats. When she’s not working, Sam enjoys reading, watching TV, playing games, and spending time with her family
